Faucets

Understanding the security feature

Each passphrase – your private key – that you enter into the wallet is routed through an algorithm and “points” to a specific Burst address. Each possible burst address can have more than one passphrase that works for it until a public key is generated by a transaction. This public key is created by an outgoing Burst transaction. Once this activating transaction has been performed, only your specific passphrase for that burst address will work. This way it is fully secured. With a faucet, you can easily get enough Burst to perform the outgoing transaction.

Burst - Outgoing Transaction

Outgoing Transaction

When you have receive your first BURST on your account, you can generate the initial outgoing transaction. The easiest way is to give the account a name or a description. If you want to mine Burst, you can also set the Reward Assignment. The transaction will cost you at least 0.00735 BURST.

How to request BURST from a Faucet

If you open a link to a faucet, you will be asked for some additional information or you will just need to enter your Burst address. Please never enter your passphrase here – just your Burst address – which looks like this: BURST-TSLQ-QLR9-6HRD-HCY22. If by chance you do enter your passphrase into the faucet, you should consider that passphrase compromised, and should start over with a new address and passphrase. The faucet will confirm your request and within the next block generation on the chain you will receive your Burst fraction.

Active faucets

The following faucets are provided and actively managed by community members or the BMF team. The BURST you can receive fluctuates between 0.01 to 0.5 but it will be always enough to create your initial outgoing transaction.

Support the faucet that helped you

Each Burstcoin distributed through these Burst faucets was donated by a community member, the faucet operator, or an organized Burst team to enable new users to secure their new address and get started with Burst. Please support these community faucet operators with a small donation that will in turn be used to fund another new Burst user. Their donation addresses can be found when accessing the faucet sites.
